Iceland Spar Optical Calcite

This member of the calcite family is believed to be the navigation stone used by the Vikings to find there way on the ocean when the sun was obscured by clouds. Iceland spar has a bi-refractive property that shows a dual image when viewed through it. This specimen is very clear and shows a nice dual image when placed on print or image.
